Twinkling Toucan

Twinkling Toucan
The Twinkling Toucan is a handcrafted circuit board. It explores the streamlined process of ordering printed circuit boards (PCBs). This is done by replicating that process in a detailed manner with a focus on producing a singular circuit board. The Twinkling Toucan displays the unseen mechanics which are employed in PCBs. It is comprised of a copper plated resin based which had a sublimated guide heat pressed into it. Then the undesired copper was eaten away by an acid bath providing a guide for the components to be soldered. An acrylic shield was laser cut then covered with a sublimation sticker depicting a toucan. This was fastened on and back lit by the LEDs.
