For a class, we were assigned to create a few pieces for a gala fund-raiser for Los Compadres, a real organization that provided real text for the invitation. We had to use the existing Los Compadres logo.
A large, booklet-style invitation needed to fit into a large envelope (too expensive to mail in the real world), along with a smaller response card and its envelope. The assignment included a promotional item.
I was impressed with the brickwork of several of the missions that are the purpose of this charity and made it one of the themes of the invitation.
The brightly colored art pieces (flower, sun, heart, helping hands) in the invitation are painted tin ornaments. Similar ornaments are given as a thank-you gift for making a special donation to this non-profit organization.
I designed the front of the invitation envelope, which opens at the top.
We were not required to design the envelope for the smaller response card.
This promotional item shows the front of a black folder with a cut-out to reveal a photo of one or two people.
The photo would be taken at the gala event and inserted into the folder and distributed before the guests depart.
The brickwork from the invitation and the replay card is carried over in this frame.
