Līf and ? poker cards
After designing the card ? for The Reality Show, it prompt me to design Līf as a counter companion. In them I experimented with symbolism of objects, animals, shapes and even languages. 𒋾 is the word "Life" of the Sumerian language, the first language of known human history. Along with the name Līf from Old English it symbolizes the past and the natural, while ? symbolizes the unknown of the future, the destructive force of modern civilization and of death.
Another aspect of this work is the physical print where I test out different materials. I chose a different outline for the cards to show the clashing and difference between the two, both as designs and as ideas, the vibrancy of nature's chaos and the violence of human society structure.
