Street Rat Personalities - Beginning and beyond

This is the final Illustration finished on Paper in my A5 Sketchbook awaiting to be scanned into Adobe Illustrator . Once scanned , it will be time to live trace the illustration to neaten it up for Digital Colour . I used a 0.05 , 0.2 , 0.3 , 0.5 and a 0.8 finepoint pen to add the detail and hair lines to the rats body .
Now that the Rat has been scanned into Illustrator it was time to perform a live trace . I didnt take the time to live trace the illustration myself as i wanted to keep things sharp , distracting and out of place to forfill the urban feeling a rat can bring to our visual interpritation .
After finishing with the tracing process , I had a play around with different Gradents to see what the outcome was offering . I used a mixutre of Black / Grey , Purple / Magenta gradents to see what the designs would look like as a T Shirt Print . If i was going to print the design onto Materials i would use the gradent idea as it stands out also making the design look alittle watercoloured .
Here is the final Digital illustration , layered up with the colours added digitally via Photoshop . I tried to add depth to the design along with shadow to give the rat the full effect . For improvments i could start too look out how the light can leave its mark on an object which will help brng my work more to life .
