Unicorn vs. Dinosaur- Who Would Win? fake ad

This photo composite was created for GCU's DDN-115: Raster and Vector Technologies course. The goal of this project was to choose several pictures to composite to create an impossible or unlikely scene.

Final Image
Remember those animal toys from when you were a kid? Well, they're back, and they're ready to rumble!
This picture took a lot of adjustment layers, smart filters, and layer masks. I also had to individually adjust the colors of both the dinosaur and horse to match my goals for the project better. To help create depth in the image, I used layer masks extensively to make parts of the city, horse, and dinosaur look like they are overlapping each other. I also used the dodge and burn tools to create the illusion of shadows and highlights on the buildings. I slightly distorted the dinosaur to help it look like it was turning to face the unicorn. The dinosaur's eye came from a picture of a crocodile, and the unicorn's horn came from a picture of an elephant. The light from the unicorn's horn was created by using the dodge tool on it a few times.
It might be difficult to see, but the shadows on the horse don't match where the light source is coming from. If I were to recreate this image, I would look for a better horse picture with highlights and shadows that would fit better within the rest of the scene. Also, the dinosaur's eye looks okay, but I would try making it look slightly more realistic. Finally, I would add more buildings to the background but at a slightly lower opacity to increase the sense of depth.
