The Urban Arts Space (UAS) has a sister gallery that is run by the same team.
Hopkins Hall Gallery (HHG) is located on Campus within the art building, while
UAS is in Downtown Columbus. These two galleries need a poster series with
reoccurring grid and graphic elements that make it easy to identify them as a unit
and should also have a memorable and recognizable branding.
The posters will be screen-printed. My job is to create the first two posters but
mainly to establish a grid and some elements that will be reused for exhibitions
in the future.
The current logo idea is this combination of abbreviation, time
frame and graphic element. The gallery presenting the exhibition
is bold, whereas the sister gallery stays light.
The color schemes will be another means of identifying the
according gallery. UAS is going to be in a bright pink, red, yellow
scheme, whereas HHG is staying within the blue and green
range. Furthermore, there is the thought of giving each gallery
a geometric figure on which the layout and the form language
can be oriented on.
