PORTFOLIO STATEMENT
My portfolio serves as a reflection of my identity. It is a depiction of how I perceive and interpret different day-to-day objects. The portfolio has a balanced flow of projects, comprising products focused on problem-solving to those emphasizing aesthetic values. Each project in my portfolio has a unique story to tell. The portfolio centres on the theme of simplicity. The trimmer design is one of the projects where I followed the entire process of Product design, from its research to the final 3D prototype. One of the strongest projects is my ongoing design for a power drill. It is currently in the process of development and experimentation of the different mechanisms and possibilities. My goal is to create a gender-neutral power drill usable by anyone irrespective of their physical capabilities. The machinery revolves around the working of hydraulics. In addition to industrial designs, the digital portrait is a representation of my country, India’s rich heritage and culture. It draws inspiration from one of India’s classical dances, Kathakali. The majority of the projects showcase my understanding of biomimicry such as the table lamp and glass furniture. I enjoy exploring and experimenting with various materials like clay, sunboard and paper which I believe adds depth and versatility to my projects. Another important aspect of my portfolio is my love for nature. I am driven by my passion for designing and aim to not only enhance people’s lifestyles but also create products that are simple and accessible to anyone.
