INTRODUCTION AND DESIGN

is a concept for a first aid kit. The intention was to design a cleaned up and structured helping device that supports people. The case is made up of two nonsymmetrical wings. Because of the opening mechanism you open up the left smaller wing first. Here you can find all important information and items for little injuries and self protection. Is there a bigger harm you can open the second wing and find all the bandages and pads.

CONSTRUCTION AND APPEARANCE

The wings are held together by magnets. All the divisions are covered with transluscent plastic so you can check if there is something inside. The grey colour is neutral and lets the orange symbols look more intensive.

ERGONOMICS AND USE

There is one handle on each side so you can grap the first aid kit from every direction and pass it easily to another person. When the case is opened you can use the handles from top and move the kit like a tray because the opening angle is limited at 180 degrees. All important information are collected on a leporello fold which you can pull out.

MOCK-UP AND CONTEXT MEDIA

The mock up is made of 3D-printed parts. The content is the same as in an usual first aid kid. There are post cards for advertising and a documentary showing the design process and explaining all the features.
