Carousel: We Could Die Tonight

Carousel: Prologue - Mortal Stars
"A pair of star-cross'd lovers take their life;
Whose misadventur'd piteous overthrows

All these stories about destiny and stars so sadly dumped into a tragedy. Yet it has become so natural, we have no need to question it. Like a sad trend that never dies out. So, why do stars evoke such stories of tragic ends? Well, you see, stars may shine bright and show up every night without fail but, just like humans, stars inevitably meet their end too. But stars don't take their last breath and simply collapse. No, they're so much more beautiful than that. When a star has exhausted every piece of itself and begins to fade, they explode in wondrous colours. Colours so bright and so beautiful we had to name it, a Supernova. A death so tragic, yet so magnificent, so sublime. A star lives and dies in glory and beauty. And so, to commemorate such beings, we write them stories of passionate lovers who meet grievous ends. Endless pages of destinies written, only to conclude in painful tears. For everything so beautiful cannot end without such calamity.
