ROSES

Two friends Simran and Jui, who used to be very close during their college days are now not in contact with each other due to some silly dispute happened between them during their college. They both are now meeting after . long time at Simran’s house as jui is about to get married and comes to visit Simran to invite her at the wedding. The film talks about this one meeting where jui tries to sort things out between them through having an indirect conversation. Jui sees rose plants in Simran’s balcony. She tries to explain her by comparing humans with roses. Jui says “we humans are very similar to roses, but we have one advantage which roses don’t. When a rose is uncultivated and young it grows thorns around itself just as humans. When we are young, we want to experience everything. We want to adapt and absorb everything fast and in order to get that we tend to make mistakes. But you see as and how the rose grows it develops into a beautiful flower.” Simran counters her by saying “, but the thorns still remain.” Jui replies yesss. And that’s exactly where we humans have the advantage of forgiving and forgetting and moving on and growing into a beautiful human being.” Simran doesn’t seem to be agreeing with Jui’s thoughts. Jui then looses hope and decides to leave. She sits in her car in order to return home. Few hours later Simran gets a call from a random person informs her that jui has met with a car accident while returning home. Simran listening to the news on call looks shocked and extremely emotionally confused. The camera tilts down from Simran’s face to her hand where she is holding a rose she plucked from her balcony and the screen fades to black and the film ends.
