“Ganpati Bappa Morya”
I am sure, we all have heard and repeated this chant many times, but have we wondered what it means ! Ganapati is another name of Ganesha and Bappa means father. Our interest for this book is the word
‘ Morya’.
Morya Gosavi was a great devotee of Lord Ganesha. He breathed and lived with Ganapati and was often labelled as lunatic for the love he felt for his master.
One night when Ganesha appeared to him and offered to give him a boon, he declined to have anything of worldly nature. But to have his name associated with lord.
“So be it”, said Ganesha!
Hence – Ganapati Bappa – Morya!!!
