The All-Knowing Shoe-Rack
Concept Summary
A client of ours had a not so uncommon problem happen while visiting a neighbouring city. Her boyfriend's shoe broke! Shoes are there to protect you, but what happens when they break at the most inappropriate time? How might we prevent having to walk with a broken shoe? How might we make the shoes more durable? This is when we came up with the All-Knowing Shoe-Rack.
This shoe-rack is one stop solution that helps prevent damage and maintain your shoes, to triple their lifetime! It scans your shoes everyday and will notify you via an app on your phone of any damage. It will give you the option to repair or replace them. It will then sterilise your shoes and apply a protective film that will be selected accordingly to the weater the next day. If you decided to repair or replace them, your shoes will be sent to your door and all you had to do was press confirm! It works on any shoe and doesn't take much space. Now you can let your shoes take you anywhere, without worrying.

The Solution
Reflexion
I had a harder time than I thought with this assignement! It was hard for me to find a solution that was not anchored in reality too much. I am a very pragmatic person so it was hard to find a idea that was a bit futuristic for this physical problem. It was an interesting exercise and I think next time I will be much better. I had a hard time drawing the 4th image of the storyboard for the problem but I asked a few people and even if they didn't get word for word what it meant, they all understood the emotion at the base of it and so I was happy with my final board. I will also in the future make my brainstorming by hand, as I think it will feel more natural, even if it's less esthetically pleasing.
