ART235 PSA Campaign

ART235 - PSA Campaign
In my Graphic Design course, I’ve been assigned to create a series of 3 posters for a non-profit organization in conjunction with The Ad Council.  Each poster should be distinct yet be easily identified as part of the same campaign.  I’ve decided to create posters for the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) concerning household water waste.  I’m trying to persuade the average household that conserving water can save money and also be beneficial to the environment.
Poster #1
For this poster I’m advocating for households to identify and fix leaks in their home.  I’ve used the creative strategy of Metaphor/Simile by adding the dollar sign into the droplet of water.  This symbolizes that both water and money are being wasted.
POSTER #2
In this poster I have used the Physical/Shape Similarity creative strategy by having the dollar sign in place of the drops of water.  This conveys that message that when you use water, you’re using money – and conversely, that when you save water, you save money.  At the bottom of the poster there is information that tells the reader how much they can save by switching their old shower head with a water efficient shower head.
POSTER #3
I’ve used the Metaphor/Simile creative strategy for this poster.  The money in the air above the toilet is symbolizing the money that’s being sucked down the drain by old and leaky toilets.
