Wednesday Night Live

Wednesday Night Live
As part of the MU Arts Cafe Student Venture, I was on the marketing team where I developed skills in graphic design, marketing, photography, videography, live sound mixing, and production.

One event we did was a variety show parodying the formats of SNL and Late Shows under the name Wednesday Night Live. I began by creating a general branding theme and presented it to the class shown here:

Once it was approved, we hashed out the details of where, when, ticketing, and other information to put out on social media and around campus on posters. I created 3 Posters: an 11x17 to go online, a 17x11 for print, and a mini version for print on little cards were could easily slot pretty much anywhere. Pictured here, I also added a QR code that linked to Arts Cafe's link tree to buy tickets, see socials and other things:

The next consideration was guests for the show. We lined up several. We had musical and visual artists do slots on the show, we also had faculty members Dr. Dave Burdick and Martin Atkins come with students to to fun segments and promote their student ventures. We also had representatives from 1901 Productions come, talk about their recent film Darkroom and show a clip from it on the projector screen we had set up.

These people needed to be advertised so I created graphics to put on instagram as well to get the word out.

During The Show
When the show came around we were all assigned roles to run the event. Mine was running tech. When faced with how to show 1901s clip, I came up with a solution that I took to the extreme to help create a much more professional-looking show. I checked out a projector and screen from Media Services to use the Program ProPresenter to show slides for guests, show the 1901 clip, show a clock for the game we played with our visual artist guest, and help set the vibe for the show.

Also for guests that came to the show we printed out little keepsake tickets to send home with them:
Also during the show, I had checked out a DSLR to take stills and footage. The stills are to be used for promotional materials and documentation, and the footage I took is the same, except I also took the footage and created a follow-up trailer that we posted a few days after the show.
