The Next Best Thing To Cry For ;)

The Next Best Thing To Cry For ;)
Some problems haunt us throughout the years. Fear of spiders, broken phone,...and onions.

As an Experience Designer, it's my mission to invent 'The Next Best Thing' to help humanity dealing with onions. By applying the skills i've learned, i've developed a new digital solution.
I analysed the problem, constructed a problem storyboard and formulated a HMW (How Might We) question:

How Might We make the cutting experience easier and faster?

This question was crucial because making chopping faster prevents tears, and making it easier enhances the overall cooking experience.

Then came the Brainstorming followed by a rain of ideas.
After that process, I stood 3 solutions out and chose the final one which is accompanied by a pitch video and a solution storyboard.

This is a problem that could be easily solved with a pair of goggles, however what I'll show you is way beyond "just eliminating onion smell". It is a game-changer that makes you skill full enough to not even give the onions an opportunity to make you cry.

Brainstorming Time
In this chapter, I used the following methods: SCAMPER, Devine Cards and MindMap.

3 Top Ideas
CoolCuts
A fridge that not only keeps your ingredients krisps as it takes your meal preparation to a whole new level. With just a touch on its digital screen CoolCuts will slice your chosen ingredients. There is the possibility to connect it to your phone so you can do this from a distant. Imagine you're coming home and in the car you can tell your fridge to cut all the food you need for your next meal.
Keep it Moving
The cutting board that moves for you. With an integrated knife with a handle that molds to your hand and an anti-slip surface.
As ingredients meet the board, it molds seamlessly, recognizing each item and illuminating with specific cut lines.  Haven't finish cutting? No problem the cutting board changes direction. Made from a delightful material, it adds a tactile joy to your process.
Enhancing the experience, magical animations appear, turning your cutting process into a whimsical adventure.
Slice Master
A Game Box that beeps at a random time of the day and calls everybody to play a round of the game. The game has different challenges all involve improving the ability to know how to cut to make it easier and faster. The game has an animated interface that shows your score, the games/challenges and game phrases such as “ready?”, etc.  There are 4 knives inside one for each end of the box, therefore one 4 players can participate.

Reflection Time
"I have learned how to do a storyboard with precision, ensuring not only correctness but also visual engagement. The process of brainstorming proved to be an intriguing journey, encouraging me to step beyond boundaries. I encountered a challenge in finding solutions that would be out of the box and digital. This experience has significantly enhanced my ability to explain my ideas visually.
Moreover, another challenge for me was to choose between all the variations of an idea.
Certainly! Here's a less formal and more straightforward version:
Looking back, these challenges really boosted my creativity and improved how I express ideas visually.
