Who is Pelle Cass?
Born in 1954, Pelle Cass, now 69 years old, has developed a distinctive style that can be using the composite technique. Inspired by street photographers such as Robert Frank, Walker Evans, Garry Winograd, and Lee Friedlander, Cass differs from traditional street photography because he feels to exposed when doing it. Cass thinks that art should be private and introspective, and you can get a feeling of it by his use of long lenses and nobody looking at the camera.

Pelle Cass's Image Recreations
This was my first attempt at recreating his style and I feel like it does not completely match the style Pelle Cass uses. The middle ground and background are lacking in terms of people composited in while Cass’s photos are considering the foreground, middle ground, and background. My second attempt turned out better than the first one, I think this because there is a main subject in the middle, and you can make it out more that it is a composite with the copies of the same people.

Pelle Cass's Image Recreation
This is the third photo I took, and I think it was the best out of all of them because of the masking and the motion. Usually in Cass’s work, he uses a higher shutter speed to freeze the motion but, in this photo, you can see that there is motion blur in some of the shoes that I had thrown relatively hard.

Pelle Cass's Image My Recreation
I think this shot matches Cass’s work the most as it can be referenced to his Selected People: City collection. This collection is a large collection of composites taken in the streets. When I took this photo I liked the diagonal line of the street as it gave the photo good energy. I think if I were to redo this shot I would have framed it more towards the sidewalk to make the people the main subject of the photo, with all the cars around it can feel like a distraction to the photo.
