It was a long-time aspiration of mine to write and illustrate a book all by myself. Finally, I decided to self-publish using KDP.

"New here, neighbour?" is a simple rhyming story about a boy moving from abroad to a new town, next door to a boy his age. Both are curious about each other, they notice that they look, speak differently and have different habits. However, quite quickly they find many similarities and become friends. 

I wanted the illustrations to be simple, almost a bit clumsy, to appeal to the younger readers.  I hand drawn them all directly in Adobe Illustrator, using Wacom tablet. No sketches. It was an interesting creative experience. I had to let myself go and accept all the small imperfections and start drawing more like a child.
