Design Strategy
When last did you change your password? Pass the Word is a scam-awareness campaign targeting identity theft and users’ password hygiene. The target audience for this campaign is young adults entering adulthood, who are currently facing the new responsibility of protecting their sensitive data. What often occurs is a false sense of confidence their digital security, seen through reusing basic passwords over multiple accounts for years. This campaign attempts to expose overconfident and lazy password habits and encourages the viewers to improve their password hygiene and security habits. The campaign provides the viewer with shocking visual representations of their bad security habits through metaphorical imagery. The visuals communicate that their passwords are something that used to work, and it technically meets the requirements, but it don’t actually do the job.
