Design Strategy - Rationale
This article for The New York Times Magazine discusses the theme of ‘muscle memory’ and how it could be utilised as a metaphor for life. It explains how habits are formed and the neurological science behind it. Written for a magazine with sophisticated and knowledgeable readers, the visual language engages with the theme while still feeling clean and organised. The illustration for the title, “Muscle Memory”, mimics synapses in the brain. The colour palette is inspired by the human anatomy. The yellow and orange hues represent ‘sparks’ firing off in the brain.
