Poem: Makati Strut

(events not based on anything real. for now.)

its the morning and im yawning, hearing sounds of my alarm
i look beside my bed, my lady's essence was gone
she left a note, she musta wrote it in the middle of night
said she's "going back to oakland and that she'd be alright"
saying she didnt know "if the PI was her place be"
wonderin why it took so long for her to realize and see
she told me this in ink instead of face to face
now im sittin on my bed all alone, disgrace

well i guess i made mistakes and i wasn't the best
and i was looking for a job to get out of my mess
but i depended on her presence
well i guess i learned my lesson
now chain smoking,tears shedding
stressed and all depressed

took a stroll on Kalayaan to console my soul
thinkin bout the many things that she had said before
bout this city being unsafe, polluted or whatever
she believed it wasn't anyones future, no endeavor
she said "lets continue what we have in the states in time"
the ill chime of the thought was ringin inside my mind
the sublime city streets went from day to night
red light turning green saying its alright
street cars honk a tune as they pass my way
starlight in the sky saying "its okay"
i guess Makati is my woman now,
its funny how she was right under my nose, I Suppose

months pass, im packing bags, airport rush is a battle
Taxi zoomin, mp3 playing, sipping drink from a bottle
full throttle, im about to leave Makati
putting today in the past and lookin forward to tomorrow
i never thought I'd leave but now its time to part
and even though i love this city imma hold my heart
cause the city couldnt treat ya like a woman does
and the city couldnt love you like a woman loves
and the city never changes like ppl though
maybe the buildings re-arrange maybe even grow

so as i leave the skyline imma keep you in my mind
And return in due time
but then again you never know

goin to show and prove that i can make it in life
maybe meet a nice lady, maybe make her "mah waif" (my wife)
phone charged, instagramming and im ready for flight
like my lifes a blank page and im ready to write, hella excite
but for now im in an airport row
i see a pretty misses "can i help with the heavy load?"
she gives me a thumbs up, "why not."
i chat her up, "where ya goin?"
she smiles "where you're going I Suppose"
