Diwali, also known as the Festival of Lights, is a significant Hindu festival celebrated with much enthusiasm. Here are some interesting facts about Diwali,


It symbolizes the victory of light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance. 

The festival generally lasts for five days, with each day holding its own significance in various regions of India. 

Diwali is associated with different legends and religious significance. It marks the return of Lord Rama after defeating the demon king Ravana and completing his 14 years of exile. For some, it's linked to the goddess Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth and prosperity. 

Homes are cleaned and decorated with lamps and rangolis (colorful patterns made on the floor). Fireworks are a significant part of the celebrations, signifying the triumph of light over darkness. 

Exchanging gifts and sweets is customary during Diwali. Families and friends come together, share delicious food, and give and receive presents. 

Diwali is celebrated differently across India and also in other countries like Nepal, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, and Singapore. Each region has its unique traditions and rituals.
