ICETO (pronounced Ais-tou) is a Maldivian gelato brand.
The branding revolves around a Maldivian lady known as Aisthu — aka ICETO. The founders of the brand wanted the logo to reflect her features and personality. Hence, she is shown in this logo wearing traditional attire, her headstrong personality and surrounded by jungle life, the latter of which refers to the tropical sources of their gelato flavours.
Each flavour of their gelatos use local produce and are inspired by food that is traditional to Maldives. In addition to their branding, I also illustrated each of their flavours, featuring “Aisthu” in different island sceneries. These sceneries, based on the key ingredient of each flavour, show how connected these ingredients are to Maldivian nature and life.
