Medieval II - Anno Domini

A project done with the help of generative AI
This is a personal project that has been inspired by classic isometric strategy games such as Age of Empires, Pharaoh or Caesar.

The buildings, textures and vegetation patches have been individually done using Midjourney and seamlessly blended together in Photoshop using photo bashing and matte painting techniques. The game title has been done using Adobe Firefly.

The PSB file has hundreds of layers, grouped by ”city blocks” to avoid getting lost in the layer ordering.

Several layers of ground textures have been created and put on top of one another to avoid as much as possible seeing repetitive patterns.

The project contains a total of around 100 different buildings and vegetation patches that have been multiplied and scattered around the city as needed.

While it may need polishing here and there, the project showcases the potential of generative AI to create diverse pieces of digital content that can be used as assets in games.
