What is a dry riser?

A dry riser is a system of pipework and valves usually installed on buildings over 18 metres high, but below 50 metres in height. The main purpose of a Dry Riser system is to enable the Fire Brigade to quickly and effectively stop the spread of a fire. Potentially saving lives and property.
