Pulp Cider is a conceptual brand of cider created in response to the packaging design of current popular Australian ciders: Rekorderlig, Toohey's 5 Seeds, Strongbow, etc.. These more mainstream ciders are generally based upon rustic branding and rely heavily on apple- or tree-themed iconography. Based on my own personal taste for quirky packaging, I created Pulp Cider using a much cleaner, cheerful, pop-art focus.
Pulp Cider's motifs are based off of early pulp comic genres, such as adventure fiction, westerns, and science fiction. The artwork is also influenced by Roy Lichtenstein's use of halftone dots. All of the illlustrations were made in Illustrator.
