Girate in periferia di Roma, a Corviale, tra settembre ed ottobre 2022, le immagini offrono uno spaccato di architetture immense e spaventose, in cui, da fuori e da dentro, mancano i punti di riferimento e rimane facile perdersi o sentirsi isolati. All’inizio i margini di cemento, gli spazi della disgregazione sociale, diventano vuoti urbani sfocati in cui solo sporadici personaggi vagano. Eppure, imprimendogli un movimento, appaiono esse stesse vive, cariche e complesse nella loro staticità, compagne del suono primitivo dell’ambiente circostante. Il viavai caleidoscopico delle strutture richiama quello delle persone, all’inizio solitarie, poi in gruppi, che l’attraversano, solo loro alla fine sanno riportare la natura dove sembrava non essere più di casa.

Shot on the outskirts of Rome, in Corviale, between September and October 2022, the images offer a glimpse of immense and frightening architecture. From outside and inside, there is a lack of reference points, and it is easy to get lost or feel isolated. At first, the concrete margins, the spaces of social disintegration, become blurred urban voids in which only sporadic characters wander. Yet, imparting movement to them, the architectures themselves appear alive, complex in their stillness, companions of the primitive sound of their surroundings. The kaleidoscope of structures recalls that of the people, solitary at first, then in groups, who traverse it, only they in the end know how to bring nature back where it seemed to be no more.
