The steel body of the table lamp consists of a hollow, extruded rectangle that contains all the elements of the light fixture. This is followed by two planes that face the rectangular base at an angle of approximately 45 degrees. All of this creates a very nice light and shadow effect, as well as the planes create an angle that causes the light to reflect downward.
Lineair’s design has been influenced by the Bauhaus art movement in a number of ways, especially in its use of materials, construction and style. For example the usage of metal bending and welding, a craft that was hugely important at that time. In addition, the focus on functionality of a product was very important as well in that period, the less design, the better. This was also applied to the Lineair table lamp. Apart from the much needed metal surfaces to be bent and welded, there is no other redundant design to be found in the lamp. It is reduced to the basics for a minimalistic, Bauhaus-inspired table lamp. A contemporary touch is added due to the modern and trending color options. A combination that is attractive in any way.
When it comes to product usage, Lineair can be used as a functional table lamp, but is also made to be used as an ambient lamp that provides a cozy light. The lamp contains a 3000K LED dimmable light source, the perfect color light to create a household coziness as well as a functional light. In addition, the brightness can also be controlled via the button attached to the cord, here you can dim the brightness according to the desired intensity!
The Lineair Table Lamp is a collaboration between Japanse lighting brand Y.S.M. Products and Belgian product designer Baptiste Vandaele.
Baptiste Vandaele, born in Kortrijk, Belgium, is a renewed mind in the design world. After a succesfull application at the the Royal College of Art in London for a MA design products, he still decided to start his own design studio to influence renowned brands with his way of designing.

Thanks to the Lineair's dimmability, the product can be used in many different ways. You can use the lamp as a functional desk lamp, but thanks to its dimmability, the lamp can also be used as an aesthetic atmosphere lamp in any room. Short press the button once to turn on the lamp, and long press the button to dim the lamp. Place the lamp in your living room and enjoy the cozy light it emits or place it on your bedside table for when you want to read your favorite book in peace. Everything is possible thanks to its timeless and minimastic design.

Lineair is designed to be an icon. Its basic design inspired by the bauhaus art movement is the strength of the design. It is 1 of the most minimal, yet differently designed lamps on the market.
What can you expect? We deliverd the Lineair table lamp in a clean cardboard box with it's name 'Lineair' printed on it. On the side you can find a sticker containing all the information of Y.S.M. Products, a beautiful "lineair" drawing of the Lineair lamp and ofcourse an indication of the chosen color.
The lamp functions with a USB connection that can be used in several ways. You can insert the USB connector into an AC adapter, but you can equally insert the USB connector into a power bank. This way you not only have a table lamp, but also a portable lamp that you can take anywhere you want!
The dimensions of the table lamp are 116 mm (w) x 167 mm (d) x 294 mm (h) and weights 0,86 kilograms. In other words, the perfect size and weight for a high quality and luxurious product.

Baptiste Vandaele, the designer of the Lineair table lamp, approaches everyday products with a new perspective. He strives to break the archetypes of everyday products and develop new, overwhelming forms. This is often done in a playful way that triggers the feelings of external persons. He often describes his designs as “Maximalistic and unusual minimalism, approached in a new, entertaining way.”
Baptiste Vandaele started his design activity full-time in 2021 and had a powerful start. In his first years, he has already releaesed collections in collaboration with international renowned companies such as Ferm Living (DK), D&M Deco (BE) ... and is already working on releasing new collections with well known companies based in Denmark, Italy, France, etc.
