Argentine Patagonia - Cerro Torre, Cerro Fitz Roy

With the Andes Mountains as its dividing line between Chile and Argentine, the highlight of the Argentine side of Patagonia is the famed Route-40 highway which passes the pinnacles of Mount Fitz Roy and Perito Moreno Glacier in Los Glaciares National Park
A solo hike to Laguna (Lake) Torre, the valley trek that took me through an astonishing sight of mountains and glaciers; finally brought me standing right in front of Cerro Torre - the iconic peak. With a cloudy sky in the morning, the chance of seeing the peak was minuscule, and the grueling 15 mile day hike might have been somewhat in vain. As I reached the glacial lake, the sky miraculously started clearing up and within few mins, the top of the sharp tooth came in full sight. The overwhelming moment will stay with me forever.
El Chalten is called the national capitol of Trekking in Argentina, the extraordinary hikes to these majestic peaks starts right here

Perito Moreno Glacier, one of the UNESCO World Heritage site, is the world's third largest body of fresh water. it has a total surface area of 600,000 hectares, bigger than Buenos Aires City.
