For this project, I created, illustrated and constructed a book that depicts an Arab love story. The book unfolds like an accordion, revealing a seamless, continuous canvas that mirrors the flow of the love story. The accordion format allows for a continuous narrative as the reader is guided through the pages, watching the characters evolve and the story unfurl in a drapery of colours.
Warm and earthy tones evoke the setting of an Arabian landscape, immersing the reader in the ambiance and culture. The text on each page is pulled down from behind the 'polaroid' drawing, allowing for interactive engagement between the reader and the work.
