Starbucks card design in celebration of Malaysia’s 64th Independence Day.

The inspiration, the Wau Bulan - being one of Malaysia's national symbols, the name originates from its shape as its lower body resembles that of a crescent moon. One story of its origins is from farmers from an earlier time used the Wau as a scarecrow that could fly to scare off the birds from their paddy fields. The Wau Bulan is normally flown sometime after a successful harvest. Flying a Wau Bulan is a favourite hobby among those in Kelantan, Perlis and those from the North West of Kedah.
