Push Pin Studio’s Milton Glaser was the main inspiration behind this illustrative CD packaging. Designed for the relaunch of a digitally remastered version, I broke the iconic Beatles cover down into its basic elements: The Beatles crossing Abbey Road, the zebra crossing, the VW Beatle parked on the street, the street itself and a single bystander on the side of the road. Abbey Road was The Beatles’ last studio recorded album and I wanted to illustrate the disintegration of the band by physically removing pieces from the artists as they crossed the road. The final artwork was created by merging painted black and white watercolour images with a watercolour gradient using Adobe Photoshop.
