This coffee table is created from solid quartersawn white oak. The top portion is composed of two book matched pieces which have similar patterns in their flecking. This creates an interesting design across the top of the table that is original and unique. The splines on each end are made of American Cherry.
 
When designing this table, I pulled inspiration from mid century and Danish design. I wanted to have a medium sized table, that allowed for storage and longevity. I then decided on a design which had a space to allow for storage, while allowing room for feet below and items on the tabletop.
