V'Ani Tefillah
( I AM prayer- King David)

From the beginning of the Jewish part of my spiritual journey, I connected strongly to prayer. Ideally prayer offers us the opportunity to connect with not only our Creator Source, but with ourselves. We embark on a path to discover who we are as we move beyond a mere making of requests, to asking WHY we want what we want, and to discover, remember, and uncover, who we want to be, who we deeply are, rather than how we image ourselves, what we want to do, what we believe we want to have.
When King David says, "I am prayer", this reflects a desire to make one's entire life a prayer. To make ones every living moment a moment being connected with God, and living who we want to be, in alignment with the Higher Will, through every thought, every word we say, and every action we perform.
On a more realistic level, our daily lives do resemble prayer. Just like while in prayer we have times where we are very focused and connected, and other times when we drift off into random thoughts and disconnect, in our lives, so too are there times of tremendous consciousness and connection with God and others. There are also times when we drift into semi-conscious behavior, losing connection with ourselves, God, and everyone around us. The door is always open, though,  to begin anew through prayer. The Hebrew verb for prayer is in the reflexive form, directing one inward. Towards the proverbial Kingdom within.

"It is Fitting to Thank and to Praise Your Great Name"The word name, refers to essence. Thus we praise and honor the God essence itself, and within ALL. 6" x 5.5" x 5/8"acrylic and foil paper on plywood scrap

"LOVE The Lord Your GOD ...
With all your heart and all your soul and all your strength ."Acrylic and foil paper on scrap plywood. There are heart symbols all around this mandala design when following every two outer curves downward. 8" x 6" 5/8"
"Every Soul Praise GOD, Halleluyah"
Psalm 150 around the edges. Within the word for soul, is breath.
Thus with every breath we praise God.
