Month of Croatian Book poster

Month of the Croatian Book is an national reading festival taking place in libraries all over the country, promoting reading culture. Every year a different design studio is commissioned for visual identity design – 2013 was our turn.

While exploring book printing we realized that in the process of machine calibration and testing roughly 500 B1 sheets (100x70cm) per book are thrown away. So we contacted the printers and asked them to collect 2000 sheets.

We designed a bookworm representing a passionate reader, but also a skilled recyclist and printed it in two spot colors over test prints. The result was 2000 yellowish bookpaper posters, all unique with test print errors, bearing a mark of the time and the reading tastes in Croatia. Cheap romance, mostly.
'I'm alive. I'm in New York. I'm free. The whole life is ahead of me.'
