A drop in the traffic from app launch to home page was observed. On the Basis of initial analysis I identified the following areas of improvement in the UI:
Current UI Requires multiple screens to navigate
Lack of readability of the buttons ‘Next’ and ‘Skip’
Lack of good visual representation of brand tenets
Old illustration style
I decided to move away from Eatsure’s pixelated illustration style since it created difficulty in understanding the visuals and distinguishing between the objects drawn. As we planned to introduce human figures in the illustrations for a better UI experience, the pixelated illustration style would make the character’s expression and emotions extremely hard to comprehend, Hence keeping in mind the brand’s friendly and modern language this new illustration style was introduced..

Design solutions achieved from new onboarding screen UI:
- Changed 3 screens into a single screen with inline horizontal scroll
- Introduced a single CTA to select location
- Improved visual representation of brand tenets
- Updated the copies to be concise and to the point
- Added micro animation for a better UI experience
