I created this series of photographs in May 2022 in Kyiv. It is dedicated to the temporary protective structures around the memorial sculptures to prominent figures of Ukraine's past.
I have never seen these familiar places in this way and it interested me because it is a change in my personal perception of Kyiv, it is a clear indication of the ongoing Russian-Ukrainian war, these protective structures are unlikely to protect these sculptures and are not beautiful, but as a phenomenon they exist in the city and people get used to them and now they serve as a reminder that the city may be subject to missile attacks.
