Rationale
We were tasked to create conceptually interesting product photography for any chosen brand. my chosen brand is Smudge lip balm. I wanted to take over head shots which show the product centered in a fruity composition. I used the 3 flavours of pina colada, hawaiian lava, and bay breezer. the exact fruit used is not disclosed and ll products have the same ingredients thus I did a taste and smell test and found that all carried a strong citrus scent and flavour. As a local South African brand they aim to stay organic and rooted with nature this inspired my idea to stick to a minimalistic, monochromatic concept combined with the bold colours of the product this in turn embraces the power, yet softness of cosmetic beauty products.
