Rise Music has been developed as a part of my fellowship program at MyPlanet Digital (myplanet.io). During the three month fellowship program I was working with a team of designers and developers learning the ropes of product development, UI/UX design and project management from the team mentors. At the end of the program we developed a product for the client we were working with and it is currently being improved and implemented at Rice Cafe in Toronto.
On the discovery stage we had to define the business owners problems and to come up with a solution on the definition stage. We found an interesting solution in creating a music community around the RISE coffee shop.
Using Rise Music anyone can select a song that they want to listen to at the coffee shop. This can be done using the desktop app or the mobile app. The user has the opportunity to choose from a wide range of music available on Soundcloud and can cue his/her track by dropping the link into the app or by directly searching for his/her favourite track on the app.
Below is the process we have gone through to solve the clients problem and build Rise Music.
