Atomic-Type is a font and an online tool that helps high school students and people who want to enter the field of chemical formulation to understand it. The project is a typographical approach to chemistry, and it is an example of how these two disciplines, initially unconnected, can find a point in common and benefit from each other.

How does Atomic-Type work? after typing in the atoms of the requested molecule, you click check and if you guessed it right, the molecule will be formed. Atomic-Type works thanks to the Opentype features along with Javascript.
The typeface includes all the atoms in the periodic table, built using the Opentype standard ligatures. In the second pic you can check the molecules, formed thanks to the discretionary ligatures.
