PuzzleMania
I decided to make PuzzleMania because I have always enjoyed puzzles and have seen people making similar ones on social media. To build this project I used 1x4 common board for the siding of the box, underlayment for the backing of the box, various scrap wood for the pieces, and 13 different stains for the pieces.
My first step was figuring out how I wanted the puzzle to look and fit together. Then I sketched out all of the pieces and figured out the dimensions.
Next, I used a variety of scrap pieces of wood and measured out the pieces to get ready to cut them out.
Then, I would cut them all out on the bandsaw and sand down the sides and edges to be comfortable when handling the pieces.
Next, I paired each piece with a specific stain based on how I wanted the puzzle to look when put together. Then, I stained each of the thirteen pieces with a different color stain.
Lastly, I measured and cut out the sides of the box and cut them out on the chop saw. I measured and cut out the backing with he bandsaw. Then, I clamped all the pieces together and brad nailed them.
