COURAGE– Sie fliegen (they fly) | Collective exhibition in Aviatrix Atelier| June 2014, 48 Stunden Neukölln, Berlin.
"Piloten in die Lüfte. Sie verließen ihre Komfort-Zone. Sie wagten es. Sie scheiterten. Es gelang ihnen. Was ist mit uns heute?""Pilotes in the air. They loose their comfort-zone. They dare. They fail. They succeed. How about us today?"
When I was asked to participate to this collective exhibition on the theme of courage, I found myself thinking about –
"What does 'brave' mean? Who do I believe to be truly brave?"
I could get to two conclusions:
-The truly brave reaches out of his limits, brakes the patterns around himself, researches reality regardless the constant pressure of an omologating society.
A child.
-The truly brave gives up herself for the sake of life, undertakes a process of reconnection with her own animal-self (embracing the fierce power of it) in order to protect and understand the living creature.
A mother.
"Guess who...?". Breaking the pattern of mass blindness.
"Maternity". in honor of Giulio Bartolomei, my grandfather. A unique painter.
