Windmill Guitars Branding & Illustration
Windmill Guitars opened their achingly hip boutique guitar store on the High Street of our hometown (Bangor, Co. Down) mere days before the Covid pandemic lockdown kicked in properly. So it's a testament to their marketing skills and determination that they are still thriving today and now have become a firm fixture in the town's retail sector. We at Hand Drawn Creative have been solid supporters of their business from the start and jumped at the chance to collaborate with a great local business and create branding and illustration for tee shirts, totes and more. I wear my Windmill Guitars tee shirt everywhere and yes, yes I did get paid in guitars!
Simple, isn't it? This fun little logo says it all with everything housed in a super simple plectrum graphic. Aaron Draplin's hard working DDC Hardware font pairs nicely here with Thirsty Script spelling out 'Guitars'. This is a logo that'll sit well anywhere at any size too.

The tee shirt design was always going to be a blast. Adding nautical elements of Bangor's famous marina and Pickie Park along with a nod to pin up glamour and a love of offset electric guitars. The original colour illustration was paired down to a (rather complex) one colour illustration printed on quality black tees.
