EP04-Surf Sangoma - Production Design + Visual Dev
Early production Painting explorations, for a Futuristic Durban.
looking for visual and Aesthetic language that can drive the story. and a "conversation starter" to check what elements we can develop and/or include in the production pipeline (3d,2d, mixed media, etc).
during this process, even at the beginning of production, I like to build a "set", a basic Foundation with simple meshes, for me to have flexibility in the process of exploration with Cameras, layout, Framing, light/color, and graphic language, and the fact that I'm able to navigate through the scene and play around with it.
this process not only serves us in the art dept but also provides strong guidance to other departments (modeling, Layout, animation) and assists them in the World-Building process. so we can simultaneously solve problems on the way.
