My masters project - my crown juwel so far - is a set of fairings that can be attached to the prosthetic "bone" of an lower leg to give the amputee a more personal connection to their prosthetic, to give them something to wear with pride instead of just a need, to give them something that brings them happiness and a sensation of fulfillment.
The project was created on the base of three volunteer amputees who agreed to let me follow their lives, struggles and succes' for 5 months.
This was the first time that the amputees were prestented with their final customized prothetic, and this was the most fulfilling feeling I've ever had when showing prople a product.
The tattoo was design by Peter walrus Madsen from Meatshop Tattoo in Copenhagen.
The design of the Midgaard Wyrm, has become the symbol of the project since it symbolizes Loss, Strength and Rebirth - which are all parts of the amputation process.
