Acinity is a project I worked on in a team, the goal was to create an application to assist people with disabilities in the event of a natural disaster. The app has been in development for 8 months and is nearing completion.
Here is an example of the main screen of the app, and when opened on your phone it would display the local weather and any news alerts for your area. It is also possible to search for, and display weather in up to 3 different cities.
The next page is very important, as it allows users to directly contact the local emergency services, along with any emergency contacts you had saved. The app can also locate, save, and text your location to any of those saved contacts.
The preparation section of the app is what I primarily worked on. It includes a way to save the added contacts in the app and can view all the contacts you have already added. The final section is a list of recommended items that are important in the event of a disaster.
The final sections implement a real time map of the weather, and a map with a list of nearby emergency shelters. This is done through the implementation of multiple API sources. The main one is from the national weather service and google maps. These allow of to display a real time map of both the local weather, and the national weather.
The app is being developed using Appgyver, which is an online add development tool that emphasizes programming without any lines of code. All logic is done using triggered events and corresponding actions.
