EV Lightning Socket

EV Lightning Socket is a visionary solution expanding charging options for electric vehicles by taking advantage of urban infrastructureUtilizing a street lightning power source allows for convenient use without compromising city aesthetics.
The concept was to create a panel with an EV charging socket that is hidden inside the light pole while being easily identified in the urban environment. The panel allows for commercial use and user interaction through simple visual language.
Depending on the regular traffic in each location, the socket can be accessed via designated parking spots reserved for EV drivers or simply by stopping near the light pole in less busy urban areas. The green lightning ring mounted in the upper part of the light pole makes sure sockets are visible from an appropriate distance.

Assembly
The panel has been designed to fit most light poles ranging from 7-8 inches in diameter. It can adapt its shape to the desired size by a slight bending of the panel material.
Charging process
Once the car is plugged into the EV Lightning Socket, the charging cable gets locked and the middle bar lights up with the color according to the approximate car battery level.
The charging process starts automatically. The numerical display is constantly notifying the user about the amount of money to be paid, together with the middle bar changing its color from red to green according to battery level.
Charging is completed by placing the card near the NFC terminal. After the transaction is confirmed user gets notified by designated icon and the charging cable gets released.
