July 4th on Cape Cod
Monomoy Island Area of Chatham - ever shifting sandbars allows one to walk WAY out into the ocean.  And to swim with the 450 million year old Horseshoe crabs.
Sandwich, MA area: bridge, beer, and good food!
We typically stay in Falmouth - but we never go to the beach even though it is right there - lots of other beaches (and activities like summer stock theater) to explore in other parts of the Cape.  And yes, grocery/gas prices are indeed high.
Spohr Gardens and beach on the way out to the Knob is always on our list of activities in the Woods Hole area (both areas - and parking - are free).
This was our first time to Chapin Beach in the Dennis area - and we loved it!  Very few people (thanks to an isolated and very small parking lot), especially if you take a walk down the beach, or when the the tide is low, way out into the ocean.
In the photo below, Yoon is pointing to me - it took me 20 minutes to walk back, and that when the tide was just low enough to walk out there!  Soon after, with more beach exposed as you can see in the photo above right, just about everyone else on the beach (especially the couples...) enjoyed the walk to the sand bars.
