mönstR (pattern) - tradition goes urban

I was introduced to the endless world of embroidery by chance, when I met
Gunnar Pedersen Jr. whilst researching for an opportunity in this project
regarding branding and tradition (fall semester 2013, AHO).

He, and his father before him, is considered a legend within the field, supplying
norwegian domestic, from 1915 until late 1980s, with patterns based on traditional folk art .

Norsk Trikotasjemuseum inherited around 7000 different patterns after the
closedown of Design Gunnar P, which gave me a lot of material to work with.

Some of the products are archived here: http://digitaltmuseum.no/

With mönstR I wanted to create a modern take on embroidery, yet continue the
tradition in performance and somewhat in perception.
