Liberty in the City New Yorker Cover

In this illustration, I imagined the Statue of Liberty in its original copper-colored state in the midst of New York apartment buildings. This illustration is alive with color, rooftop gardens, hot air balloons and open windows, welcoming the viewer into the world of this intricate drawing.

I created a secondary illustration to fill the inside cover of the article that envisions steamships full of immigrants heading towards the Statue of Liberty and consequently towards their new lives as members of the United States.

I used Procreate to fully create the illustration by hand, and added the typography through Adobe Illustrator.
