THE PENGUIN BOOK CLUB

This project was inspired by D&AD’s 2023 Penguin brief which was to create a series of products that would help enhance the Gen Z reading experience. My ‘spin’ on the project however was for the products to find a way to get non-readers to read.

The poster creates an incentive for people to keep reading, the scratch off side guides people on their reading journey if they are unsure about where to start and encourages people to finish books and carry on reading so that they can complete the poster by the end. The other side features a book pun to appeal to the Gen Z audience, and is there for you to still have a poster up while you complete the other side. But, if by the end of the scratch off poster you decide you prefer the other side, you can keep it up as is.

The tote bag allows the user to take their book with them and find a place that makes them want to read and get into a book. A tote bag is a popular item for avid readers, so it helps those who aren’t feel part of this community.
